Buy stamps and envelopes without cash and load the GeldKarte
Stamp vending machines as well as Deutsche Post branches accept payments made with GeldKarte
Paying at the stamp machine
You don't need cash anymore to buy stamps in Germany – there are now over 4,000 Deutsche Post stamp vending machines where you can pay conveniently with the GeldKarte. No more rummaging around for the right change, no more stamps given in return instead of change: the golden chip guarantees fast and simple payment.
You can also buy office supplies, postcards and telephone cards without cash, at 13,000 branches of Deutsche Post all over Germany.
Loading credit onto your GeldKarte: Cash Group
All Postbank customers can load credit onto their cards without a fee from cash machines at members of the Cash Group, i.e. Postbank, Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Bank, Commerzbank and HypoVereinsbank. Postbank cash machines are located in all large branches of Deutsche Post.
Paying for express parcels with GeldKarte
Delivery staff are equipped
Payment terminals
Recipients can pay for cash-on-delivery express parcels with their GeldKarte – even on their door step. All 1,700 delivery staff of German DHL are equipped with mobile payment terminals.
PACKSTATION offers 24/7 access
The PACKSTATIONS offer the special service of sending and collecting parcels around the clock – ideal for working people who can now pay the corresponding fee using their GeldKarte. Cities such as Dortmund, Mainz, Hamburg, Berlin, Potsdam and Frankfurt am Main already have a large number of these machines, and by the middle of 2006, there are already around 700 across Germany.
Some companies even have their "own" PACKSTATIONS: In 2004, the software company SAP was the first major company to commission a Deutsche Post Packstation on its premises. In 2005, several companies followed, such as BASF in Ludwigshafen, T-Online in Darmstadt, plants of Siemens as well as Microsoft Germany and Volkswagen's subsidiary company "AutoVision" in Wolfsburg.
