Paying at a vending machine
Paying with the GeldKarte at a Deutsche Bahn Automat (public transport)
Paying with your GeldKarte is much simpler and quicker than paying with cash or using an girocard (former ec card) or credit card:
- The vending machine display shows the amount payable.
- Insert your GeldKarte into the slot – you do not need to use your PIN or to sign anything.
- In some cases (e.g. in busses) you must confirm the amount by pressing a button.
- The terminal then confirms the payment and shows the credit balance on your GeldKarte. What could be simpler?
Use your GeldKarte to pay for cigarettes, bus tickets, parking lot tickets, stamps and an enormous variety of other things. Its microchip can hold far more small change than your pockets ever could. The days when you used to root through your purse for the right change, or stand around waiting for change at the checkout, are over.
Internet payments with the GeldKarte
Using your GeldKarte on the Internet
Some retailers already allow you to use your GeldKarte to make purchases through the Internet. GeldKarte is the only means of payment that enables you to make secure and anonymous payments via the web, while at the same time guaranteeing payment to the seller. All you need to make Internet payments with the GeldKarte is a compatible card reader for your PC.
